Local editing or uploading your photo?

Before choosing a face editor, ask where it processes your image and what happens to the original. A browser interface alone does not answer that question: a website can process a photo locally or send it to a server.

For an upload service, look for answers about storage, deletion, who can access the images and whether processing has another purpose. Avoid inferring those answers from a “free” label. Local processing removes the photo-upload step, but you should still understand the site's other services and your own device storage.

Choose based on the task

BlurFaces supports one still photo at a time, with face detection, editable rectangles and four covering styles. It does not provide video editing, batch processing or general retouching. A different tool may fit those tasks; check its current capabilities and data practices before supplying private images.

The same review applies to either approach

Automatic detection can miss faces. Inspect covered regions, background details, metadata and the accompanying text. Choosing local processing does not by itself make the exported scene anonymous.
