# Soft-launch your partner without showing their face

> Keep a relationship post personal while agreeing what to reveal, covering faces and checking tags, reflections and location clues.

A relationship soft launch is a post that hints at a partner without making a full introduction. Maybe you want to share a dinner, a weekend away or a favourite moment while keeping the relationship's details between you for now.

There is no single right amount to reveal. The useful first step is agreeing on it together. A covered face can still appear in a post your partner did not want shared.

## Agree on more than the picture

Ask about the image, caption, timing and audience. A partner might be comfortable appearing without a visible face but prefer that you avoid a workplace, location or tagged account. Decide whether friends can repost or speculate publicly.

A soft launch does not have to be a puzzle for followers to solve. You can share a moment without inviting people to identify someone. Keep the caption aligned with that boundary.

## Choose a frame with fewer clues

A photo focused on a shared meal or activity may need less editing than a clear portrait. Before posting, look for mirrors, sunglasses, windows and screens that show a second view of the face. Check whether a visible name, familiar apartment or distinctive tattoo reveals more than you intended.

BlurFaces does not crop images, remove backgrounds or automatically find those details. Choose the source photo deliberately, then use a face cover where it helps.

## Add a cover and inspect the edges

Open [the emoji-face editor](https://blurfaces.app/emoji-face), choose your picture and review the detected boxes. Select Emoji for a casual cover, Pixelate for a mosaic or Block for opaque rectangular coverage. Use Add face for a missed profile or reflection.

Emoji symbols have transparent surroundings and may leave facial detail around rounded edges. Adjust the box and inspect the actual image. Strength is unavailable for Emoji and Block because those modes use coverage rather than adjustable blur.

## Keep the caption from undoing the edit

If the point is to hold back your partner's identity, tagging their account or including their full name changes that. A venue tag or repeated location can also reveal details you agreed to keep private. The right caption is the one that fits your shared decision, not one that maximises curiosity.

Download the edited copy and reopen it before posting. BlurFaces leaves original metadata out of that new file, but visible details and the filename still need review. Select the edited copy when attaching the photo.

A face cover is useful for a chosen boundary. It cannot guarantee that friends will not recognise the person from context. If either of you is uneasy about the finished post, waiting is a valid choice.
