Face detection runs on your device. Closing this tab removes your photo from this editor.
Start with the publishing decision
Consider who appears in the frame, whether they agreed to public sharing, and whether the image needs to be published at all. Editing one picture cannot address every risk created by a public post. A careful review of the scene is essential.
Use opaque coverage when detail matters
Block replaces the covered rectangle with a solid fill in the exported image. Blur and pixelation retain transformed visual detail; do not treat either as a guarantee against identification. Extend coverage when a box leaves facial features visible.
Inspect more than faces
Tattoos, distinctive clothing, signs, companions and landmarks can still reveal identity or place. Review the edges and background, and add manual boxes where appropriate. A redacted face does not make the remaining scene anonymous.
Keep the public copy separate
Download a new copy without the original metadata and verify it before publishing. If you need the original for documentation, keep it separately with access limited to the intended people. BlurFaces edits still photos; it does not process video or secure your original storage.
